去橡树树 To the Oak Tree

如果我爱你 If I love you --
这不像攀爬凌晓华。 I will never be a clinging trumpet creeper
利用你的高树枝来炫耀你自己。 Using your high boughs to show off my height
如果我爱你 If I love you --
永远不要学一只迷恋的鸟。 I will never be a spoony bird
为绿荫重复单调的歌声； Repeating a monotonous song for green shade
不只是一个弹簧。 Or be a spring
一年四季送上凉爽的安慰 Bringing cool solace all year long
这不仅仅是一个危险的山峰。 Or be a steep peak
提高你的身高，提升你的威望 Increasing your stature， reflecting your eminence
即使是白天。 Even the sunlight
甚至是春雨。 Even the spring rain
不，这些都不够。 No， all these are not enough
我得做你旁边的木棉。 I must be a ceiba tree beside you
像一棵树一样和你站在一起。 Be the image of a tree standing together with you
根，紧握在地上 Our roots， entwined underground
树叶，在云层中抚摸着 Our leaves， touching in the clouds
风吹过 With each gust of wind
我们都互相问候。 We greet each other
但没有人。 But nobody
理解我们的话。 Can understand our words
你有你的铜熨斗。 You'll have your copper branches and iron trunk
像刀，像剑，像哈伯人。 Like knives， like swords， like halberds， too
我有我的红花。 I'll have my crimson flowers
像一声沉重的叹息。 Like heavy sighs
就像一个勇敢的火炬。 And valiant torches
我们共享寒潮，风雷，雷电 We'll share cold spells， storms and thunder
我们分享薄雾，彩虹，阴霾，彩虹。 We'll share mists， hazes and rainbows
就像永远分开。 Seemingly always apart
但他们的余生都是相互依赖的。 But also forever interdependent
那是伟大的爱。 Only this can be great love
坚韧就在这里。 The loyalty is here
