英专毕业论文答辩必备
     虽然现在小Q正在国内一所985高校继续读英专业研究生，但是回想起去年的4,5,6这三个月份实在是太辛苦了啊！刚刚从专八的阴影中走出来，马上又要迎接毕业论文答辩的暴风雨。啊......就让暴风雨来的更猛烈点吧！！！把小Q对于毕业季的美好憧憬全部都破灭吧。别的专业的孩纸都在计划毕业旅行，有木有。我们还在这里苦逼的准备专八；别的专业都在到处奔波着找工作，我们还在熬夜搞毕业论文；本来想从网上随便弄两篇论文凑凑吧，突然接到老师的消息说今年本科生的论文也要开始查重！尼玛，为什么首当其冲的都是我们苦逼的2012级啊。小Q以前在一所师范院校就读，前一届的师范生不用参加全国教师资格证考试可以直接拿教师资格证，到了我们就要自己去考；专八在全国考了20多年都没有改革，轮到我们就改的我们考了懵逼；现在毕业论文又要来虐我们一次！好了，吐槽完毕。为了能够顺顺利利的毕业，我们还是要过好毕业论文这一关。毕业论文答辩对我们毕业生而言是非常重要的。那么我们英专的孩子该如何准备马上就要到来的答辩呢？

论文答辩工作以及成绩计算
1、成立若干答辩小组，每个答辩小组应至少由3位教师组成，其中1人为组长，负责毕业论文（设计）答辩的具体组织工作，并由学院指派1名秘书负责记录工作。答辩结束后，答辩小组对学生的毕业论文（设计）及答辩情况等写出评语、确定成绩。答辩工作完成后，教务处将聘请有关专家、老师（或寄送外校）对毕业论文（设计）进行抽查和复评（抽查面约10%），并以适当形式公布抽查和复评结果。 

2、 毕业论文（设计）指导教师应按教务处时间要求交学生的毕业论文（设计）、指导教师的评阅意见及评分，由教务将这些资料转交给答辩组。答辩组长指定一位老师作为评阅教师，填写毕业论文（设计）评语的“评阅教师评语”部分。
参与毕业论文评阅的2名老师成绩评定相差在15分（不含）以上的毕业论文不得进入答辩阶段；参与毕业设计评阅的两名老师成绩评定的平均分不及格者不得进入答辩阶段。 

3、答辩小组成员应按照答辩小组组长的安排交叉评阅本小组能够进入答辩阶段的学生毕业论文（设计），根据毕业论文（设计）要件、结构、论点、论据、见解以及是否有抄袭等情况，提出评阅意见和成绩建议。 

4、答辩小组根据学生毕业论文（设计）所讨论的主题，拟出若干质疑问题，以即席回答或准备回答的方式让学生选择回答，每个学生的整个答辩过程控制在20－30分钟以内。

5.答辩的程序为：

1）学生首先介绍毕业论文（设计）的基本思想和主要内容；

（2）撰写毕业设计同学要对自己的设计进行演示； 

（3）教师提问，学生回答问题等。答辩小组必须作好学生答辩记录，给出学生答辩成绩。 

6、总评成绩的计算。为了全面指导教师、毕业论文（设计）评阅人和答辩小组对学生毕业论文（设计）的评价，学生毕业论文（设计）的总评

成绩计算方式如下： 
每个学校的评分标准可能不同，以小Q所在的学校为例，
论文（设计）写作成绩＝（指导教师评定成绩乘以百分之四十再加上答辩时的成绩乘以百分之六十）

The title of my paper is Heavenly War and Earthly Conflict, an Insight into John Milton's Paradise Lost. I choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. Firstly, I am fond of literature works. Secondly, I am quite familiar with this story as one of texts in British and American literature Selections. Last but not least, I am keen on the study of human nature and the profound significance and instructions for us from John Milton. For the above facts, I select the Heavenly war and earthly conflict an insight into John Milton's Paradise Lost as the title of my paper. 
 
I hope by studying this great poem we can know more about this Literature masterpiece,and I also want to show my own understanding about it. 
 
Next, here is an outline of my presentation and I devide my paper into four parts. Part one presents an introduction of John Milton and Paradise Lost. Part two introduces the main contents of the book of Paradise Lost. Part three gives my own analysis of major characters in Paradise Lost. Part four draws some conclusions by my careful reading and thinking.

in A Rose for Emily from a Feminist Perspective. I choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. Firstly, I am fond of literature works , especially gothic literature works. Secondly, I am quite familiar with this short story as this is one of the texts in our intensive teaching course  and I have taught this text for more than 3 times . Last but not the least ,as a female , I am keen on the study of feminism. For the above facts, I select the subject of  A Study of the Causes of the Gothic Style in A Rose for Emily from a Feminist Perspective as the title of my paper.   

I hope by studying this short story we can know more about American southern women in certainhistory and culture and more importantly help women in modern society get a deeper understanding about ourselves ,help us raise our independence and confidence and show more concern for our mental health. 

Next , I will present it to you. Here is an outline of my presentation. They are literature review, gothic tradition , the gothic style in the story and the causes of the gothic style .  

This paper consists of six parts. Part one presents an introduction to the author William Faulkner and A Rose for Emily by pointing out the purpose and significance of this study. Part two is literature review which introduces the relevant research about this novel at home and abroad and then points out the theoretical basis and methods.  Part three gives a timeline of the gothic tradition in literature and explains the main characteristics of gothic works. Part four explains the three aspects of the gothic style in the novel，
that is, the death theme, grotesque characters and mystic atmosphere. Part five then explains in detail the causes of the gothic style in this novel: patriarchal oppression, the myth of southern ladyhood and Emily’s attitude towards love. Finally, in the conclusion, the author summarizes the previous parts and emphasizes the significance of the argument of the thesis again.

The title of my paper is On Transformation of Parts of Speech in Translation. I choose this as my topic due to the following reasons. Different languages have different standards to distinguish parts of speech. Each language has its own special structure. And there are no equivalent parts of speech between different languages. In order to make the target version more idiomatic and standard, the transformation of parts of speech is always used by translators. So the transformation of parts of speech is playing a more important role in English to Chinese based on different characteristics of English and Chinese. For the above facts, I select the subject of“On Transformation of parts of speech”as the title of my paper. 

I hope by studying this topic we can know the importance of the transformation of parts of speech in English to Chinese translation. Through transformation, we can get the better version and improve the translation skills. 

The way of thinking and expressing is quite different between Chinese and English. English is a kind of static languages which tends to use more nouns. While Chinese is a dynamic one in which verbs are often used. 

So when we make translation in English to Chinese, we should know this point and shift the parts of speech. 

Next, it is an outline of my paper. In the main part of this paper, I divide it into five parts. Part one presents an introduction to the basic concepts of parts of speech and transformation. 

Part two discusses the definition of translation and emphasizes the importance of transformation of parts of speech in the course of translation. 

Part three gives four basic ways of transformation of parts of speech through illustrative examples. There are transformed English words into Chinese verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs. 
Part four presents some problems about transformation and gives some advise to solve the problems. 

Part five draws some conclusions that transformation between parts of speech is necessary for us to achieve good translation. It is demonstrated that we can have a good master of transformation andimprove the translation. In addition, we must continuously study and explore in all kinds of translation practices.

1、不要太多内容，最好在5－10个幻灯片。
 
2、字号最好是：封面标题44－50；各页标题40－44，正文24－32。 

3、内容最好是提纲式的，不要用长句，也最好不用单词，可以用简单句子或短语。

答辩前应该准备的问题
 
 
1 自己选择这个题目的原因； 

2 研究这个课题的意义和目的是什么？

3 设计和实施的简单过程（如，商务方向：采用什么方法来搜集信息、资料等）； 

4 自己论文的主要内容（不要念论文，最好用4、5句话简单介绍论文内容，如，商务方向：做了哪些调查，得出什么结论，计划如何实施项目）； 

5 仍然存在的问题（如，商务：在实施项目中可能会遇到的风险以及如何解决）； 

6 最好准备相关文字并熟记（答辩时要脱稿陈述，但是可以看PPT文件）。 

7 语言最好简单清楚，不要直接用论文中内容，应该用解释性的句式，如：When I was designing the lessons, I found that…. 
 
8 全文的基本框架、基本结构是如何安排的？

9 全文的各部分之间逻辑关系如何？

12 论文虽未论及，但与其较密切相关的问题还有哪些？

     对以上问题应仔细想一想，必要时要用笔记整理出来，写成发言提纲，在答辩时用。二、答辩技巧学生首先要介绍一下论文的概要，这就是所谓“自述报告”，须强调一点的是“自述”而不是“自读”。这里重要的技巧是必须注意不能照本宣读，把报告变成了“读书”。“照本宣读”是第一大忌。这一部分的内容可包括写作动机、缘由、研究方向、选题比较、研究范围、围绕这一论题的最新研究成果、自己在论文中的新见解、新的理解或新的突破。做到概括简要，言简意赅。不能占用过多时间，一般以十分钟为限。所谓“削繁去冗留清被，画到无时是熟时”，就是说，尽量做到词约旨丰，一语中的。要突出重点，把自己的最大收获、最深体会、最精华与最富特色的部分表述出来。这里要注意一忌主题不明；二忌内容空泛，东拉西扯；三忌平平淡淡，没有重点
 回答老师的问题
 
 然后老师开始提问（老师用英语提问，学生用英语回答），这一部分主要需要学生熟悉自己写的论文，答辩前把论文多看几次关键的重要单词理解一下就可以了。 
大约有6－8个问题，时间将持续10－15分钟。 

 论文答辩问答环节注意事项
 
 首先要听清楚问题，如果没有听清，可以要求老师重复问题（可以说pardon之类的话）。 
 
回答时首先要态度好，要切题，而且不要保持沉默，不会时可以表示抱歉。

 常见问题：

1 Will you please give us a self-introduction?

 有些学生可能由于紧张没听清问题便开始背诵论文的内容，结果造成答非所问。 
 
2 Give us a presentation of your thesis. 有些学生一听到thesis便详细而又不理解地背诵其论文内容, 在被打断之后便不知该说什么。其实, 考官只是想知道你对论文的总体了解, 让你简单阐明自己论文的内容与观点。 
 
3Why do you choose such a theme?/ What do you want the reader get from your thesis? 对于这个问题，你可以谈谈你的喜好，你想要读者从中得到什么。 
 
4 What is the uniqueness of your point of view? 对于这个问题，你可以谈谈你的观点与他人不同之处及原因。这就要求你有相关知识。 之后便是针对你的论文的问题了。 
 
5 关于选题：如Why did you choose this topic for your paper?或Why were you interested in this project？ 
 
6 关于具体部分： 
商务方向：SWOT，COSTING，FLOWCHART，RISK，STAKEHOLDER，如
Do you think is this a necessary activity for the project? 
 
7 关于背景知识及理论知识：如What does SWOT stand for?（商务）
 
 8 关于论文存在的问题：如In the last sentence on page … there are some grammatical errors.
