又是一年毕业答辩季，前两天通过了博士论文答辩，离毕业又近了一步~所以，“学位论文和论文答辩”怎么说？

A thesis at the doctoral level is called a dissertation, but dissertations and theses are usually referred to collectively as theses.There are some differences between a master's and a doctoral thesis.
博士级别的论文称为dissertation，不过dissertations和theses一般都可以称为theses。硕士和博士论文之间有一些不同。
bachelor 学士；单身汉
master 硕士；大师
doctor 博士；医生
thesis 论文，复数为theses
dissertation [ˌdɪsərˈteɪʃn] 论文
graduate thesis 毕业论文
thesis指本科和硕士论文(bachelor's or master's thesis)，dissertation指博士论文(doctoral dissertation)；
有些情况相反，dissertation指本科和硕士论文，thesis指博士论文。
补充：
paper可以指期刊上发表的研究论文，如research paper；也可以指作为学校课程作业的论文，如course paper。
essay含义较广，可以指为学校课程写的短文；也可以指小品文、散文、随笔等。
论文答辩 thesis defense
：
In North America, the thesis defense or oral defense is the final examination for doctoral candidates, and sometimes for master's candidates.
在北美，论文答辩或口头答辩是博士研究生的最后考试，有时候硕士研究生也要答辩。
同样地，加拿大University of British Columbia网站上：
All doctoral programs and some master's programs require students to defend their theses before they can graduate.
所有的博士教育和一些硕士教育要求学生进行论文答辩，然后才能毕业。
